Ascend Logan Square IL sits on Milwaukee Avenue, the neighborhood's primary retail strip. BLOC Kedzie Chicago IL takes its name from its Kedzie Avenue address in Avondale, just south of the Logan Square boundary. Earlier versions of this guide named two more stores in the corridor; both came off our nightly list in October 2026, and quoting prices we no longer collect would be worse than leaving the gap visible.

The practical implication of this density: Logan Square is the closest thing Chicago has to a walk-friendly dispensary comparison zone. Drivers coming from anywhere on I-90/I-94 have straightforward access via the Kimball or Kedzie exits. The pair runs daily specials that overlap frequently — when one store promotes an eighth, the other often responds.

Cookies Chicago Clinton IL is the anchor tracked dispensary in the River North and Fulton Market area, sitting on Clinton Street near the West Loop / Fulton Market district — one of Chicago's highest-density restaurant and hospitality corridors. The location draws tourists, restaurant workers, and tech industry employees from nearby office concentrations.

Cookies brings its brand-specific product ecosystem: Cookies-branded flower, infused prerolls, and carts are the draw for brand loyalists, while the broader menu serves general shoppers. Pre-tax menu prices at Cookies Chicago Clinton IL run at market or slightly above for generic products; the brand premium is more visible in the Cookies-label items. For visitors staying in River North hotels or attending events at the United Center, this is the closest tracked dispensary.

The Fulton Market corridor continues to develop rapidly. From a transit perspective, the Clinton CTA Green/Pink line stop is walkable, and rideshare from River North proper runs 5–10 minutes. Parking in the area is garage-heavy and metered; street parking is difficult during peak restaurant hours.

nuEra Chicago IL, Maribis Chicago IL and Consume Chicago IL cover the broader north and west-side geography outside Logan Square. Each is a full-service store with menus spanning flower, vapes, edibles, concentrates and prerolls from the Illinois multi-state operators.

Prairie Cannabis South Loop IL, on Roosevelt Road, is the one store we read just south of the Loop, and Mission South Shore IL is the only one further south — the South and West Sides have had fewer legal retail options relative to demand since the market opened, and that imbalance is still visible in our coverage. For Chicago residents with a car, leaving the city removes the 3% Chicago cannabis tax — about $2.40 on an $80 purchase. That is the whole of the guaranteed saving. Every village may charge up to 3% in its own right under Illinois law, and a county may charge on top, so two suburbs ten minutes apart can land on different totals. The inner ring is the most accessible: Dutchess Oak Park IL (Oak Park, near the Austin Boulevard city line) and BLOC Berwyn IL (Berwyn, on the Ogden Avenue corridor) are both about twenty minutes out. Dutchess Morton Grove IL, on Dempster Street near the Edens, is the nearest option from the North Side.

The nearest tracked store from the North Shore is Dutchess Morton Grove IL on Dempster Street, about sixteen miles north of the Loop and reachable from the Edens.

South and southwest, four tracked stores sit on the main outbound routes: Ascend Chicago Ridge IL near the mall at about sixteen miles, Mission Calumet City IL on Torrence Avenue near I-94 and the Indiana line at twenty-two, Ascend Tinley Park IL off 159th Street at twenty-six, and Lux Leaf Matteson IL on the Lincoln Highway at about thirty. All four are reachable on the Metra Electric or Rock Island lines as well as by car. West of the city, Dutchess Oak Park IL is the closest tracked suburban store to Chicago at about nine miles, straight out the Eisenhower.

Further out, Consume St Charles IL is on Randall Road in the Fox Valley about forty miles west. It is outside Cook County, so it carries neither the Cook nor the Chicago layer — but the city sets its own rate, so the saving is real rather than fixed. At forty miles each way this is a restock trip, not an errand: worth it on a large purchase, not on a single cart.

Illinois's layered cannabis tax structure means that geography is as important as menu price when evaluating a deal. Chicago city stores carry the state excise (10–25% depending on product type) + 6.25% state sales tax + 3% Cook County cannabis tax + 3% Chicago city tax. A tracked suburban store in Cook County carries the first three layers but not Chicago's, and its village may add up to 3% of its own. Stores outside Cook County, such as Consume St Charles IL, carry neither the Cook nor the Chicago layer but may carry their own county and city rates.

Outside the city limit Chicago's 3% does not apply: $3 on every $100 at the register, before any difference in the shelf prices themselves, and before whatever cannabis tax the suburb sets for itself, up to 3%. Cook County's 3% applies on both sides of the line.
