Where you can legally use cannabis in Chicago and Illinois, and how much you can buy
In Illinois you may use cannabis on private property whose owner allows it, and almost nowhere else: not on the street, in a park, in any vehicle or in a hotel that forbids it. Since 12 June 2026 a resident aged 21 or over may possess 60 grams of flower, 10 grams of concentrate and 1,000 mg of THC in infused products; a visitor may possess half of each.

Of the 8 suburban Chicago dispensaries on our nightly list, 5 returned a menu on 12 October 2026: Dutchess Oak Park IL, BLOC Berwyn IL, Dutchess Morton Grove IL, Mission Calumet City IL, Consume St Charles IL. Leaving the city drops Chicago's 3% cannabis tax; a village may add up to 3% of its own, and the 4 Cook County towns still pay Cook's 3%.

Where you can legally use cannabis in Michigan, and how much you can buy
In Michigan an adult aged 21 or over may use cannabis at home, on other private property with the owner's consent, and at a designated consumption establishment licensed by the Cannabis Regulatory Agency in a town that permits one. Not in a public place, and never while driving. You may carry 2.5 ounces, no more than 15 grams of it concentrate, and keep 10 ounces at home.

Detroit dispensaries we read, by neighborhood and corridor
Eight Detroit dispensaries are on our nightly list, and on 13 October 2026 seven returned a menu: ZAZA, Cloud Cannabis, Hyde Cannabis, 420 Factory Detroit, High Club Detroit, Pure Options Detroit Detroit and URB Cannabis Detroit. Detroit licenses adult-use retail under its own Ordinance 2022-11, which reserves half of each license type for Detroit Legacy applicants and keeps dispensaries to the hours of 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Grand Rapids dispensaries: the 28th Street corridor and the rest of the stores we read
All nine Grand Rapids dispensaries on our nightly list returned a menu on 13 October 2026: Cloud Cannabis, NOXX, JARS, Lume, Ascend Cannabis Grand Rapids, Exclusive Grand Rapids, House of Dank Grand Rapids, Lume Grand Rapids Beltline and NOXX Plainfield Grand Rapids. Only NOXX names its street, 28th St. Grand Rapids opened its market by ordinance on 8 October 2019 and asks every applicant for a social equity plan.

The Detroit suburbs we read, store by store

Colorado cannabis purchase limits for residents and visitors
A Colorado dispensary may sell an adult aged 21 or over no more than 1 ounce of flower, or its equivalent in other products, in one transaction, and no more than 8 grams of concentrate to one person in a day. An adult may possess up to 2 ounces, and the gap between those 2 numbers is easy to misread. Visitors have bought under the same limits as residents since 2016. Colorado cannabis tax explained: what you pay in Denver and Boulder
