What we measured
At 23:41 UTC on 17 October 2026 we took the listed sale price of every product our scraper had read in the previous 36 hours, at the stores in our nightly set in Southern Nevada, Michigan, Illinois and Colorado. Products were sorted into fixed sizes so that like is set against like: a 3.5g eighth, a 28g ounce, a 1g single pre-roll, a 1g disposable vape, a 100mg edible package and a 1g concentrate. For each state and size we report the median, the middle price, and we print a median only when at least 20 products sit behind it.
These are prices on menus for one day, not prices paid at the register, and they are before tax. Michigan adds 16.6% for adult-use buyers; the other three states tax differently, which the tax guides linked below walk through. A median across hundreds of listings says what a shopper typically sees, not what the lowest-priced store charges today.
Flower, pre-rolls and disposables: about half of Nevada's price
The median Michigan eighth was listed at $16, against $29 in Southern Nevada: 55% of the Nevada median, across 601 Michigan products from 70 stores and 1,286 Nevada products from 36 stores. A single 1g pre-roll showed the same shape, $7 in Michigan and $12 in Nevada, 58% of it, on 2,088 and 973 listings. A 1g disposable vape was $17 in Michigan and $31 in Nevada, 55% of it.
The ounce is where Michigan stands furthest from everyone. Its median ounce was $34.98 on 353 listings from 58 stores, against $60 in Colorado and $101.25 in Illinois. Nevada menus listed only 11 ounces that night, too few to print a median, a sign of how differently the two markets list flower.
| Category | Michigan | Southern Nevada | Illinois | Colorado | Michigan as a share of Nevada |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eighth (3.5g) | $16.00 | $29.00 | $30.00 | $24.00 | 55% |
| Single pre-roll (1g) | $7.00 | $12.00 | $12.00 | $10.13 | 58% |
| Disposable vape (1g) | $17.00 | $31.00 | $43.40 | $40.00 | 55% |
| Ounce (28g) | $34.98 | — | $101.25 | $60.00 | — |
| Edible (100mg) | $12.00 | $15.00 | $14.40 | $13.93 | 80% |
| Concentrate, not rosin (1g) | $20.00 | $24.50 | $35.00 | $25.00 | 82% |
Edibles and concentrates hold closer
Two categories break the pattern. The median 100mg edible package was $12 in Michigan and $15 in Nevada, 80% of it, on 111 Michigan listings from 36 stores and 675 Nevada listings from 32. A 1g concentrate other than rosin was $20 in Michigan and $24.50 in Nevada, 82% of it. Across all four states the edible medians sit within $3 of each other, from $12 to $15, while the eighth runs from $16 to $30.
So the state matters most for the products sold by weight and in volume, and least for the dosed ones. For a shopper comparing a trip across a state line, the useful conclusion is narrow: the gap is in flower and vapes, and a 100mg package of gummies is listed at about the same price in all four states.
What this does not show
Rosin cannot be read yet. Only 8 rosin listings appeared across the four states that night, far short of the 20 we require, so this piece prints no rosin figure.
One night is one night. Prices on these menus move every morning, and a weekend sale at a few large stores can shift a median. We will repeat the same read and report when the gaps move; until then, treat these as a dated snapshot of listed prices and compare today's actual specials on the deal pages, which we read every morning.
